From Track House to the Cliffs of Insanity

So. We’re headed to the mountains, to escape the track house rat race and perhaps live a simpler life. Or least a crazier one.

This is one of our new cabins. I think this is the one built in 1949. or 1951? Either way, it’s one of the oldest buildings on “the hill”. Not sure what we’re going to name her yet. All I know is that it’s mos def a girl.

I’m not sorry they’re not in more of some kind of order. Honestly, I’m just really glad that we’ll be transitioning away from all this mandatory screen time and more into working with our hands, building, growing, hosting… climbing, chopping, shoveling, creating.

So I thought I’d start now-ish.

When she’s all gussied up, we’ll post more pix. And I’m sure that I’ll post some pix of mid-cleaning and rearranging and sewing and washing and working more with our hands.

Big love and some laughter, too,

Liv

Why, yes, we are having some electrical issues!

Each decade got its own electrical box.

Stairway up the rear.

Kitchen window from the outside.

At least the chimney is intact… unlike the 1951 cabin!

Our new 1949 Cabin…

View out the front door.

It’s a one-roomer!

Kitchen

Yes, that IS pink!

Attic access. A little creepy.

And an actual closet for hanging actual clothes.

I think this shower is lined in plaster??

These bulbs mean that we have exactly 176 days to the next snowfall.

Why, yes, we’re having some plumbing issues, too.
